I think, judging from past years, that they’ve reduced their offerings like many brands have. This is a mix of the covid and the brexit effects – many brands have round themselves with excess stock to sell so it doesn’t make sense to create more when there is a backlog anyway.
I’m actually quite enjoying these tighter edits – they don’t seem so excessive and overwhelming – and the Pillow Talk Kits are a good example. This is the Beautifying Lip & Cheek Secrets Set containing a full sized nude-pink matte lipstick and travel-sized lip liner, lip gloss and Beauty Light Wand, all in the shade Pillow Talk.
It’s just a really easy, very wearable kit that comes in at £43 (including a £19 saving versus buying the individual products) HERE and will keep make up fans very happy indeed. I’m conscious we are approaching Black Friday and Cyber Monday but this is already a ‘value’ set and brand new so I don’t think (but don’t know) they’d appear in any further discounting.
Better value still is the Pillow Talk On The Go Kit which contains a lip liner, mini lipstick, mini mascara, blush and (I’ve inexplicably missed it out although I have included the lid) eye liner. It’s also £43 but includes a £23 saving. It’s HERE. I think I’d struggle to find a make-up lover who wouldn’t want to find this under the tree.
This isn’t my favourite mascara but the millions of sales proves me in the minority. There are a few ‘baubles’ like this (a please-all buy is the mini lipstick bauble at £14 HERE) and I think these two fit so nicely into the under £20 bracket – this mascara is also £14 HERE.
Another good option, especially if you like to have a gift with purpose, is one of the Rock Star Lipsticks. Charlotte Tilbury joined the Elton John AIDS Foundation as the Official Founding Beauty Partner of The Rocket Fund in 2023 with a mission to raise awareness – these lipsticks are based on Elton’s outfits so they certainly do that. There’s an option to make a donation to the fund as well. The two shades are Rocket Girl and Ready for Lust, more of a berry shade.
